As a Hawaiian-made swimwear brand, a lot of our clients are from right here on our home island of Kauai. Others are regular visitors to the state, and others are planning their very first trip. Whether you’re a local or it’s your first time visiting the Aloha State, we’re sure that you are planning on spending plenty of time at the beach! But, on a state made up of an archipelago, you have literally thousands of beaches to choose from. Thankfully, we can help make your decision a little bit easier. Check out some of Hawaii’s top beaches below! And don’t forget to order your Hawaiian-made swimwear before you head off on your adventure.
Hawaii’s Top Beaches
Waikiki Beach, Oahu
Waikiki is one of Hawaii’s most famous beach areas. Located on Oahu, this beach is a major tourist attraction, so be prepared for a crowd. Whether you want to go snorkeling, parasailing, boogie boarding, surfing, paddleboarding, or just lay out in the sun, Waikiki is perfect for all of that. There is also no shortage of places to eat, drink, and shop. Take a look at this article from Best of Oahu to figure out which section of Waikiki you should head to.
Like Waikiki, Lanikai beach is located on Oahu and is considered one of the island’s most beautiful beaches. With soft sand and tranquil turquoise water, Lanikai offers a picturesque tropical locale. If you’re looking for more of a family-friendly spot, try going next door to Kailua beach park. It has similar tranquil conditions but also has bathroom facilities, showers, and places to grab a bite of lunch. (P.S., make sure to check out our mommy & me swimsuits if you’re taking the kiddos to the beach!)
For those looking to participate in some extreme surfing, you can’t miss an opportunity to visit Peahi beach on Maui. The beach is known for big wave surfing and has the nickname of Jaws — thankfully due to the size of the waves and not an abundance of sharks. Keep in mind the giant waves at this beach are suited for highly experienced surfers and is not the best place to take the kids! If you’re surfing at this beach, make sure to choose a Hawaiian-made bikini from our surf collection which is made to stay on in the waves.
Makua Beach, Kauai
Also called Tunnels Beach, Makua is a top snorkeling destination in Kauai. With shallow (usually calm) water and a beautiful reef, sea life is always bustling. Even if you don’t feel like snorkeling, the soft sand and crystal clear water is perfect for relaxing and tanning.
Kahaluu Beach Park
This gorgeous stretch of beach is a federally-protected haven for sea turtles, but humans are allowed as long as they do not interact with the turtles. This beach is covered in dark grey volcanic sand and is perfect for snorkeling, surfing, and swimming. This beach should have a lifeguard and features bathrooms and food vendors, making it ideal for families.
