If you’re anything like us you already appreciate the power of a good smoothie. Whether it’s to get your daily intake of fruits and veggies or to rejuvenate yourself after a long weekend – a nice, vitamin-rich smoothie can be a cure-all.

There is an abundance of great smoothie recipes out there but we wanted to mix things up a bit and try some new recipes that really kick-start the day.

Below are three delicious recipes with an extra twist that not only taste delicious but also will fuel your morning.

‘The Best Breakfast’ – A rich, filling, protein smoothie

This smoothie recipe comes straight from the menu of the Grass Roots Juicery in Brooklyn, New York. We don’t have the measurements, so for this one you’ll have to play around with this one! This smoothie not only tastes great, it is also super filling and protein rich.

  • almond milk
  • granola
  • almond butter
  • banana
  • cinnamon
  • hemp protein

A green smoothie with a spicy twist

A twist on the normal spinach-based green smoothie – this recipe from The Kitchy Kitchen includes jalapeno and mint, giving it an extra kick with tons of flavor. It’s a great way to spice things up in your morning routine.

This ingredient is for 3 cups

  • 1 large handful spinach
  • 1 mango, chopped
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1 cup cucumber, chopped
  • 1/4 jalapeno chopped
  • 1 small handful cilantro
  • 2 sprigs mint
  • 1 lime, juiced

Blend all ingredients together.  If you want it to be thicker/colder, you could freeze the coconut water in an ice cube tray the night before!
