KaiKini’s core values are founded in empowering women, promoting environmental sustainability and honoring Hawaiian culture... with every bikini we make.
Last summer, we launched KaiKini Cares Community Fund, in order to formalize our commitment to organizations aligned with these values. We raised a total of $837 in 2022 that was split between Waipa Foundation, Kauai YWCA, Surfrider Foundation and Kauai Hospice.
In addition, we sent 400 of our fabric face masks to The Ronald McDonald House of Cincinnati for families to use during their stay. As a Cincinnati native, KaiKini’s owner, Kate, wanted to support not only her hometown but a dear friend who has dedicated herself to supporting the organization after she lost her infant daughter to illness.
Our 2023 Initiatives
For 2023, KaiKini will continue its financial support of Waipa Foundation, a living learning center that teaches, shares, and inspires Hawaiian values and ahupua`a practices.
By building passion, skills, competency in related areas of knowledge, Waipa works to care for people & community.
In addition to supporting Waipa, KaiKini will be working with Hawaiian cultural practitioners to evaluate our business; insuring we are in alignment with traditional Hawaiian values and practices.
This year, we will also be supporting Women In Need (WIN), a nonprofit organization that empowers women who have been through domestic violence, homelessness, substance abuse, and incarceration.
WIN is committed to guiding women and teens towards sobriety, self-esteem and responsibility; developing positive life skills needed to become independent and to break the generational cycles of hopelessness and abuse.
Services offered by WIN include: transitional housing, outpatient substance abuse recovery, personal development classes, domestic violence survivor support, case management, housing for homeless families, community resources, Hawaiian cultural initiatives and a gifting closet.
The funds (and goods) raised by KaiKini for Women In Need will supply essential household and personal care/hygiene items for WIN’s gifting closet. Gifting Closet items are available to anyone in need.
